Center of Usability Engineering and Research (CURE)

CURE has gained extensive experience by conducting numerous projects and activities in a variety of scientific and industrial settings. Our projects cover a wide range of usage contexts and application areas.

The application area ranges from theoretical user experience research to applied research on user experience challenges such as interaction with intelligent environments.

  • Advanced web systems
  • Mobile and pervasive devices and services
  • Advanced media, interfaces and interaction techniques (virtual reality, augmented reality, information visualization, 3D, intelligent behaviour, interactive TV)
  • Graphical user interfaces
  • Consumer electronics and products
  • Systems for specialized contexts (e.g. elderly users, control and surveillance, traffic systems)

Role in the K-project

  • Usability design for web 2.0 applications

Expected benefit

For CURE:

  • Access to an exceptional large project (international setting, various organizational units etc.) to actively conduct research in user experience and visualisation

For the K-project:

  • User experience and visualisation is expected to have a considerable impact on the outcome of the Technoweb 2.0 project
